About Us

Detroit Processing Inc. also known as Detroit Locker Plant is a small family owned and operated butcher shop. This business was started in 1972 by James and Henrietta Lewis at the same location where we are at today. Roger and Valerie Holdeman bought the business in 1992, and in 1995 doubled the size of the building with a 25 by 105 addition which gave us enough space for a larger freezer, sausage kitchen and a smoke house.   Fast forward nearly 3 decades and the second generation is in charge, providing quality products at reasonable prices, with integrity and old fashioned, friendly, service.

  We continue to improve and refine our processes and constantly strive for excellence.

  In 2017 we realized a dream that we had chased for many years with the opening of Garner Street Barbecue.  It is next door to and part of our retail operation with lunch service Wednesday thru Saturday from 11 – until sold out
