MeatsDetroit Processing also known as Detroit Locker is a small family owned and operated meat processing, business. This business was started in 1972 by James and Henrietta Lewis at the same location where we are at today.  We, Roger and Valerie Holdeman bought the business in 1992, and in 1995 doubled the size of the building with a 25 by 105 addition which gave us enough space for a larger freezer, sausage kitchen and a smoke house.   Not having any previous knowledge in the production of cured and smoked meats, we gave ourselves to the study of, and quality manufacture of, these products. Today, 22 years later, we have some of the best products in the area.  In 2011 our son, Mitch came back to the plant, after spending 4 years doing commercial refrigeration, and has taken over the management of the business.  His knowledge of quality products, a desire to learn more, and the study of Good Manufacturing Practices,  has led Detroit Processing,  into new areas, of products and production methods.  We look to the future with anticipation, as the next generation continues our vision of  providing, quality products at reasonable prices, with integrity and old fashioned, friendly, service.
